Staff List

Administrators are the forum's managers. They are responsible for maintaining the order of the forum and making sure the members are happy and safe in Mapleology. They have direct control of the rules, and will create amendments if need be. Administrators are also responsible for maintaining and electing the staff members.

The Magicals are the forum's founders. Two of the Administrators, Yao and Kiki, as well as a retired Administrator, Drew, are also founders. They create events with the Event Team. They maintain the forum's threads with the Moderators. They have as much voting power as the Administrators, though they cannot directly change the rules of the forum without permission from an Administrator.

Moderators are the forum's police force and diplomats. Following Mapleology's rules and their own intellectual judgment, they settle disputes between members and organize the threads and posts of Mapleology to reduce spam. When other online forums visit Mapleology, the Moderators act as ambassadors as well.

Writers create and revise all official threads of the Mapleology staff. Their goal is to make instructions clear, events interesting, and descriptions concise, but articulate. They are masters of the pen and keyboard, so they are very active in the Notebook section, where they gladly critique essays and narratives.

Artists create graphics for the forum's events and collaborative projects. They are recruited for their well-rounded and wide sense of knowledge in the graphics programs, such as Photoshop, and thus are similar to Gurus. Artists are also responsible for periodically changing Mapleology's graphical layout.

Composers create music for the forum's events. They also willingly create music, or critique musical elements in members' individual or collaborative projects. This makes them similar to the Gurus.

Gurus are masters of their own animation programs or computer languages. Members tend to message them for tips or questions. Gurus work with the rest of the staff to create promotional advertisements for Mapleology.

Event Team members are responsible for making new forum events, updating the periodical events such as Banner of the Month, and promoting a sense of community within the forum through the events. In inter-forum events and competitions, Mapleology's official team is consisted of them.

HOW TO JOIN

Admissions into the Mapleology staff is highly selective, and I did not write that just because I have been doing a lot of college applications lately. Due to high amounts of applicants, applications for positions are no longer accepted. Instead, whenever there is a need of another staff member, forum events are held with prizes including the position. There may be essay contests for prospective Writers or drawing competitions for prospective Artists. The Magicals cannot recruit because it is an exclusive group for the founders of Mapleology. Administrators can only be elected by other Administrators, and candidates must already be part of the staff.
